๐ฐ SEOHYUN, NATURALLY AND PROUDLY SUCCESSFUL
At the end of hardship comes happiness; smile and good fortune will also come. It's Seohyun's hardworking steps that everyone anticipates and cheers on.
Seohyun, from a member of top girl group Girls' Generation to Actor Seohyun, who has long been recognized for her abilities and confirmed her presence, is now challenging to expand her scope beyond the small screen and into the movie screen.
Seohyun, who will make her first film debut through Netflix's film <Moral Sense> (Director Park Hyunjin), will be filming continuously after confirming her appearance in <Holy Night: Demon Hunters> as her next (second) film. <Moral Sense> and <Holy Night: Demon Hunters> are romance and occult action genres, respectively. Seohyun's clever choice to show her various charms is admirable.
Based on a popular webtoon of the same name, <Moral Sense> depicts a unique romance between a man of unusual taste and a woman who accidentally finds out about his secret. Seohyun plays Jung Jiwoo, a woman who leads a risky romance by continuing a unique relationship with her co-worker after accidentally learning about his secret taste. Jung Jiwoo looks cold and blunt, but she has a warm heart more than anyone else. In particular, it is expected that she will have a sweet chemistry with Lee Junyoung, who is also an idol and is younger.
<Holy Night: Demon Hunters> is an occult action film in which a team of people fights against evil spirits. Seohyun is expected to play a progressive female character and one of the main players of the team against evil spirits, showing a fresh appearance that were not shown in her previous works, as well as <Moral Sense>. The film is also drawing considerable attention as Ma Dongseok, who is leading the current Chungmuro and is expanding his career as a global star, participated in the planning and is listed as an official Creative (Director). Following OTT (Netflix), Seohyun will take a full-fledged step towards Chungmuro and the big screen by working with Ma Dongseok.
Above all, <Holy Night: Demon Hunters> is a movie previously known as <Inside> and was very much talked about early on in Chungmuro as an interesting scenario (script). It was also a matter of keen interest to see who would play the prominent female character. As Seohyun took over the role, she was well recognized for her stable performances in the small screen such as <Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo>, <Bad Thief Good Thief>, <Hello Dracula> and <Private Lives>. From genre to character, it will be a challenging work for Seohyun and raises even more curiousity.
Recently, Seohyun's name and her hidden story were unintentionally mentioned as personal issues arose over her partner Kim Junghyun, who dropped out of the drama <Time>, which she participated three years ago. It is hard to imagine the burden that Seohyun had endured as well as the external damage caused by the sudden departure of the male lead from the melodrama. However, Seohyun silently did her best in her share of the work without opening her mouth, and her wonderful sense of responsibility drew natural acclaim and support. It's a thing of the past that she doesn't want to get tangled up anymore, but in fact, the "Very Likely to Retire" Actors and the proudly successful Seohyun's present (situation) vicariously satisfies a thrilling retribution.
An official from Chungmuro said, "I know that Seohyun has been given a lot of scenarios (scripts) so far that I wonder why she is finally appearing in a movie. I think the best timing has come, when a good time to enter the big screen came together with a good work. As she is an actor who pulled off characters on small screen in a variety of genres, not just a specific image, it is expected that Seohyun, who has become deeper and more mature, will show her growth on the big screen. Her high level of favorability and undisputed acting skills are expected to increase the audience's trust."
